1976 to date

Hispanic communications consultant.  Development of marketing objectives and strategies for the Hispanic audience.  Development and translation of operations and training manuals, marketing materials, Internet sites. 

 

Simultaneous and consecutive interpretation in legal, conference, business, medical and international settings.  Mexico City, Brownsville, San Antonio, and El Paso, TX.

 

February- November, 2000

Translation of speeches, brochures, press releases and other materials for Bush for President, Inc.  All work was published in the Spanish link of www.georgewbush.com.

 

Interpreter volunteer work with non-profit and faith based organizations in the Austin and San Antonio areas.

 

April, 2000 to April, 2002

Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of San Antonio.  Program Coordinator and outreach specialist for the region, responsible for recruiting and training bilingual and bicultural persons on interpretation techniques. Marketing of interpreter services. Participates in several state work groups in minority health planning.

My own procurement/export company to service México and Latin America from the U.S.  Accomplished substantial contracts in México, Brazil, Bolivia, and Jamaica, through competitive bidding and appointment of local agents.  Brownsville, TX.

 

1976 to 1981

Managing Director of pizza and hamburger chains with up to 42 units with stores in México City and the interior.  Made these operations extremely profitable.

 

 

EDUCATION

Born and raised in México, attended private, Catholic bilingual schools.  Well educated with broad cultural interests.

 

Bachelor in Business Administration, major in marketing.  University of Mexico (UNAM), 1969.
